Hello Folks,
Tomorrow is my favorite day of the entire year, every year. It is the time I most reflect on how lucky I am to have such a wonderful, loving family, and how lucky I am to live in this wonderful town of ours. As many of you know, I grew up in Australia, where the Holidays fall in the middle of Summer. I have vivid memories of being a small child singing “White Christmas” with sweat dripping down my nose wondering what fuss was all about. I was 32 years old before I experienced a snowy Holiday Season, and then it all made sense. The Holidays are meant to be White!
This has been a year unlike any other, and it is easy to think of everything that's gone wrong. People have been forced to cancel plans, stay away from friends and family, and change daily routines. It's been a hard year for everyone. But within the chaos of this crisis, so many people, organizations, and businesses in our community have stepped up and supported each other in creative and selfless ways. They remind us how much we still have to be grateful for. Below is a short list of just a few things to be grateful for this year.
Wishing you and your Loved Ones a wonderful Thanksgiving and a special Holiday Season.

While everyone else was staying home, doctors, nurses, grocery store workers, delivery drivers, and so many more people have been busier than ever keeping our country running safely. We are grateful for all the essential workers who have kept our world running and our needs met even in the toughest conditions.

More than almost any time in recent memory, we are grateful for our teachers. Thank you to teachers for being flexible, supportive, hardworking, and kind in the midst of unprecedented chaos and uncertainty. Children in the community look toward teachers as leaders, and they have risen to the challenge. And likewise, thank you to the parents who have had their routines flipped upside down and been required to adapt to this situation with grace, patience, and possibly a few fits. Thank you for doing such a diligent job of raising the next generation.

We've all needed help this year, and our nonprofit organizations have provided it. From food banks and counseling services at the Christian Center, to safe spaces at Peace House, and wonderful trails for social distancing maintained by Mountain Trails Foundation, so many nonprofits have stepped up to the occasion. Thanks to everyone who works and volunteers for our local nonprofits. You have made a significant difference during these tough times. And thanks to everyone who has donated to a local nonprofit this year. Learn more about our local nonprofits and their amazing work here.

People have had to change their relationships with their favorite restaurants for the time being. We thank them for being flexible and adding takeout, drive through, and outdoor dining options. By pivoting so well, our restaurants help us all feel a little more like ourselves. Check out Thanksgiving Specials here to do your part to help keep our cherished restaurants open this winter.

This challenging, uncertain year has shown just how much we rely on and take joy from our local small businesses. We thank our small business owners and employees for all the extra work and stress they've endured this year. Our community appreciates their effort and commends them for their hard work.

Living in the Park City area, we really lucked out with all the space we have for social distancing. We are so thankful for our trails, resorts, and protected lands that have given us some amazing escapes close to home this year.

OUR SUPPORT "STAFF"
“My favorite video conferencing moment is the silent mouthed ‘thank you’ to an off-screen someone who is dropping a tea, snack, lunch plate, or once for a meeting with Asia late at night, an Aperol spritz! It’s such a quiet moment of real life and gratitude that I love spotting in a corner of my screen that reminds me how, though this is impossibly difficult, it’s still full of small gestures of love.”

THANKS TO OUR
DRIVEWAYS & BACKYARDS
Once we were able to get together out of our houses, it was nice to see friends in person, even if it was by way of driveway hangouts and behind masks. Thanks to all the outdoor spaces that we didn't fully appreciate before. We won't take you for granted again.
